"Comida casera" (home cooking) at Cortijo Estela is
at the heart of the Almerian lifestyle. With its
abundance and diversity of fresh regional
vegetables, fruits, seafood, meats (fresh and
cured), poultry and local wines, olive oils and
almonds – it is the true Mediterranean diet – suited
to every taste, and a vegetarian’s delight.
Cortijo Estela is a restored Moorish farmhouse. The farmers who built it originally lived off the land and their animals on the property. Guests
can enjoy an authentic culinary and cultural experience by eating like locals at home with meals prepared for them by a local farmer’s wife, delivered to Cortijo Estela. Fruits and vegetables are freshly sourced locally from farms (not supermarkets). Meat and poultry are sourced similarly, freshly slaughtered (under regional authority).
Seafood is fresh from the local Mediterranean
fishing port of Adra 5km away.
This special service adds great flexibility to your
leisure at Cortijo Estela. Reasonably priced and
considerably less expensive than restaurants; if you
prefer to stay at home and not cook, it avoids the need to drive to a local restaurant and be concerned about alcohol consumption.
Meals can be ready at predetermined times with 48hr notice to suit your day’s activities.
