Cortijo Estela is
a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom self-catering cottage
sleeping 6 in the southern province of Almeria, Andalusia. Built by peasant farmers in traditional, simple Alpujarran style, Cortijo Estela was constructed with whatever local natural materials were to hand. Subsequently it is rustic and eco-friendly. It has been restored and discretely adapted for modern living so as not to detract from the innate charm and spirit of its humble origins.
The precise location is the small hamlet of
Los Lopez in Rio Chico, a secluded rural valley between the fishing port of Adra (4 miles), and the beautiful historic market town of Berja (10 miles) - gateway to the scenic Alpujarra Mountains and their picturesque villages. Situated only 10 minutes by car from beaches and 90 from Granada, Cortijo Estela is ideally suited to those seeking to get away from it all with convenient access to a wide variety of
touring, cultural and sporting activities. Almeria international
airport, train
and bus stations are 50 minutes away.
Additional accommodation
for
groups of up to 10 is provided by use of the
cottage's adjacent sister property, Finca Soleada, a
farmhouse providing two more bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living areas, terraces and patios. This provides groups additional flexible indoor and outdoor space for workshops & wellness programs. Groups of 7-10 are offered a supplementary five-day per week meal package.
